Rooms

While I can record your music in any reasonable space, there are three inexpensive rooms in Antwerp that I have used with good results. They are all in Borgerhout in Antwerp.

Madam Fortuna

Madam Fortunas sloping roof

This is a favourite of mine, for its warm sound, helped my the wooden floor and sloping wooden roof (which helps kill room resonances and make the sound very natural). It is 8.5 x 12m in size, enough to record a group of up to about 8 musicians. Daniel McBrearty recording at Madam Fortunas

There is also a small kitchen which can be used to take a break, and there are some excellent and cheap restauarants in walking distance. The hall is set back from the street by at least 10 meters, so there is no street noise.

See here for more info.

The Chapel

This room is a similar size to Madam Fortuna, but the sound is much brighter and the reverb is fuller, because of the stone floors and the large glass windows. If you like a large, bright sound this is the place for you.

Recording at The Chapel

The Chapel is located near to Madam Fortuna, so there are the same facilities nearby. There is a pleasant garden to relax, but no kitchen.

The Library

This is located in a monastery, in the same area as the above rooms. It is on the first floor, and there are many soft furnishings, so the sound is quite dry. The reverb time is very short. It is a good place to get a very detailed sound.

If you want to use one of these rooms for your project, please let me know well in advance so that I can book it.
